Digital X-Rays

At Budgewoi Dental, we invest in the newest and most innovative dental technologies. Using modern technology, we can streamline your visits and dental procedures, making your dental care faster and more effective. These technologies also improve the comfort and quality of many of our procedures.

Why Do I Need Digital X-Rays?

Dental x-rays are vital to our diagnostic process at Budgewoi Dental. With digital x-rays, our skilled dentists can get a complete picture of your oral health. With the in-depth look that x-rays provide, we can make the most accurate diagnoses. We use the following advanced x-ray and scanning technologies to identify developing dental problems and plan for procedures.

Digital OPG X-Rays

Orthopantomogram x-rays, also known as digital OPG x-rays, provide wide, panoramic images of both the upper and lower jaw, creating a complete x-ray image of your oral situation. This panoramic view of your teeth, which we wouldn't be able to achieve with standard bitewing x-rays, is great for diagnosing jaw problems, like temporomandibular (TMJ) joint disorder. It also offers an excellent view for assessing erupting or unerupted teeth, such as wisdom teeth.

CBCT Scans

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans allow us to create high-resolution 3-D images of your teeth and bone structure. We can look at your entire dental situation in 3-D with this technology, including each tooth's orientation and precise location, which helps us plan for surgeries and procedures. We may use CBCT scans to plan for a dental implant procedure, assess a patient for a TMJ disorder, or plan orthodontic treatment, among other things.

Digital CEPH X-Rays

A cephalometric x-ray, also known as a CEPH x-ray, creates clear and accurate lateral images, which means the image is a side view of the patient's face. With a high-quality image of your facial bone structure, jaw, and teeth, dentists can plan orthodontic treatments more precisely and track orthodontic treatment progress. The view this advanced x-ray system provides is also ideal for diagnosing jaw problems and bite misalignments, in addition to other dental conditions.

All the above-mentioned imaging systems are comfortable for patients, and the images we get with these technologies give us great insight into your specific situation, making your diagnosis and treatment more personalised, precise and successful.

If you have questions about any of the imaging systems we use in our practice, we welcome your call to Budgewoi Dental. We enjoy discussing the advanced dental technologies we use in our modern dental practice and explaining how they can help you achieve excellent oral health.

Intraoral Cameras

We use intraoral camera technology at Budgewoi Dental to show the patient exactly what the dentist is seeing, which helps the patient better understand the dentist's diagnosis and how the treatments we recommend will help fix the situation. Intraoral cameras provide high-resolution images that appear immediately on a chairside screen, so we can clearly communicate your dental situation quickly and easily.

We can also use the intraoral camera to take images during an exam, which we can save for our patients' files. These images can be used for a variety of purposes, including documentation for insurance companies or as reference material at a future appointment, where we can use them to track developing dental issues.

Apex Locator

The apex locator is an electronic device that helps us determine the length of the root canal, which helps us in planning your procedure. We can use the data provided by the apex locator to increase the accuracy and precision of a root canal treatment. It's an excellent tool that makes treatment more efficient. When we use this technology, we can often save time during the planning process, take fewer x-rays and deliver a higher quality procedure to our patients.
